Hillary Shakespeare & Anna-Elizabeth Shakespeare bringing “The Upside of Unrequited” to the Screen

Based on the book of the same name by New York Times bestselling author Becky Albertalli, 'The Upside of Unrequited' centers on Molly (Williams), an awkward teenager who feels left behind when her twin sister Cassie (Belkin) starts her first relationship with her dream girl Mina (Agudong). Molly lets Cassie set her up with Mina’s best friend Will (Eisner). Molly goes along with it but she’s caught: the guy she really likes is Reid (Lomax), her cute awkward co-worker.

Much Ado takes its name from the renowned play 'Much Ado About Nothing', which is one of the Shakespearean witty comedies. This film version transports the play from sunny Messina to a party for the local rugby team in the UK countryside for an updated coming of age perspective. Much Ado is the second feature film from the Shakespeare Sisters team, as a homage to their favourite Shakespeare play. The film includes the nuances of an English setting but equally blends current inventions such as contraception with those historical references to being cuckolded.

Soundtrack to Sixteen Title Text.png

Soundtrack to Sixteen is a light teen romantic comedy, pairing Maisy (Scarlett Marshall) and Ben (Gino Wilson). Two teens navigate their first potential romance. The first is a real sense of time and place; it feels specific both to London and to its early ’00s setting and has a great affection for both, without losing the universality of the story. The Shakespeare sisters’ screenplay is full of scenes—particularly the sweet awkwardness of Maisy and Ben’s meeting on a night bus—that zero in on teenage experience with a specificity that is funny and cute.
