Synopsis

When their bus breaks down, a ragged team of rugby boys find shelter with a nearby family: Leonato, his daughter Hero and niece Beatrice. Among the team is Beatrice’s ex, Benedick, but she keeps up a strong front, swearing off all men. Hero, however, is smitten with Claudio. Winning her heart is treated like a competition between him and the captain of the rugby team Pedro. But things get complicated when Claudio and Hero announce their engagement. John, Pedro’s bitter brother convinces Claudio to jilt Hero, who, distraught, puts her own life in jeopardy. Beatrice finds comfort in Benedick and feelings come rushing back as they spend night together. But things look different in the morning when Benedick won’t stand up to his friends. The family’s only hope is the wacky Friar’s foolproof plan: pretend Hero is dead.
